THE WINES OF FAUGÈRES ARE
Great Wines of Nature
White wines
The white wines of Domaine Florence Alquier, present a beautiful alliance of minerality and freshness, accompanied by candied aromas, faithful to the AOP Faugères.
Le Village
in the vineyard
With its beautiful pale gold colour, this cuvée represents all the qualities of a Faugères white wine: the elegant and floral aromas of Marsanne and Roussanne and the structure of the white Grenache.
in the mouth
On the nose, this 2018 first presents us with white flowers (hawthorn and jasmine), followed by candied pineapple.
The palate is generous, with a beautiful combination of minerality and freshness, as well as candied aromas. Finally, there is a saline finish, the signature of this cuvée.
on the plate
To be enjoyed with a salmon steak with lemon sauce, sardines seared a la plancha or a Pélardon cheese from the Cévennes.
Puech Mourié
in the vineyard
What a mountain to climb with this white Puech Mourié! Its grape varieties: Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache blanc. Vinification in barrels on lees.
in the mouth
The colour is pale with grey reflections. The nose is reminiscent of toast, bergamot, white fruit and eucalyptus. At the top, the palate develops flattering aromas of acacia, lemon, mandarin and vanilla. Finally, the descent leaves a persistent impression of freshness and elegance.
on the plate
You can enjoy it with warm oysters, eggs with truffles or a Saint Honoré.
Red Wines
Domaine Florence Alquier is located in the terroir of the Faugères PDO, which produces first-class wines.
The red wines have an elegant, fresh nose, with a wide range of aromas, and the white wines, which retain the minerality so typical of this territory, can be kept or drunk quickly.
Renaissance
in the vineyard
Grape varieties: Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah. It is a wine of pleasure with a great aromatic freshness but still keeping the structure of a Faugères wine!
in the mouth
The nose is expressive and reminds us of the greedy notes of the south: violet, garrigue, blackberry and liquorice. The attack is generous with jammy aromas of black fruit and coffee. This wine then develops fresh notes of thyme and green cardamom.
on the plate
To be enjoyed with a flank steak with shallots, or for those with a sweet tooth, a panna cotta with chestnut cream.
Puech Mourié
in the vineyard
Grape varieties: Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre. Hand-picked in crates, sorting of the grapes, carbonic maceration for the Carignan and maturing in stainless steel vats.
in the mouth
This wine develops notes of Zan, graphite and black fruit. The attack is fleshy. Then we find the freshness of the schists characteristic of Faugères.
on the plate
As an aperitif with terrine from your excellent butcher or homemade,
with brochettes marinated in tikka massala or cumin, with a rib of beef, a leg of lamb or even a cassoulet.
Rieutord
in the vineyard
Its grape varieties: Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre
in the mouth
The nose is elegant, complex with graphite, balsamic (terebinth, mango) and floral notes. This elegance is found in the course of the mouth. You have here all the promise of finesse of a Faugères wine with the structure that befits great wines! The powdery tannins sublimate the aromas of these schist soils.
on the plate
To accompany this wine, you can enjoy a 7 o’clock leg of lamb, a braised rib of beef, or a roast duck.
Moulin de Guingou
in the vineyard
What a promise already, what a potential again! The freshness and power of the Faugères schists are found in the mouth. Grape varieties: Mourvèdre, Grenache, Carignan carbonic maceration.
in the mouth
A great wine can be recognised by its balance, which is present from the start and which is confirmed over the years! The nose is still a little discreet (but already promising) with roasted coffee, zan, and Ente plum. The freshness and power of the Faugères shale are also present on the palate.
on the plate
This wine will go well with rabbit with prunes, roast lamb with thyme or an omelette with ceps.
